WE ARE HAVING A BABY!
We are excited to announce that we are having a baby.....ok not in the traditional sense. Let me explain. A few months back Mom (Carla) was at the bishops warehouse picking up a food order for a member in her ward and there was a lady there that got talking to mom and kids/grandkids came up in the conversation and this lady tells mom that her grand daughter is pregnant and her and her husband decided not to keep it. (she cheated on her husband and got pregnant. She wanted to have an abortion, but her husband would not let her and said that they were going to adopt it out.)
Mom and this lady exchange phone numbers and mom gave her our contact information. That was a few months ago and we kind of forgot about it. Well this last Thursday night April 17th 2014. We got a text message from the Bio Mother asking if we were still interested in adopting her child. To shorten the story some we have been in contact with this Bio Mother ever since. She lives in Downey and her Doctor is in Preston. She is due June 5th 2014. So we have 40 something days to prepare.
We were trying to decide which would be the best avenue to proceed with the adoption process. We were not sure if we needed to go through Health and Welfare, LDS Family Services, or private adoption. After talking to our contacts with Health and Welfare we decided that it would be best if we did a private adoption. We will be meeting with the lawyer on Monday with the Bio Mother and her husband for a free consultation so we can figure out what all needs to be done and find out how the whole process goes.
We technically cannot start the adoption process until the baby girl is born, but we will need to have paperwork with us at the hospital so the Bio Mom and Husband can sign the Power of Attorney over to us so we can take the baby home with us. The Bio Mom and dad want nothing to do with the baby and for obvious reasons because of the affair, but they also are struggling financially and cannot take care of the baby.
We wanted to create this blog so we could keep everyone updated. Between Kara's and My family there is a lot of family and the few friends we invited to read the blog we figured this would be the best way to keep everyone updated with the journey we are on with the adoption process.
I don't think it has completely sunk it yet with us. We can't believe we will be able to have the opportunity to be parents. We have been temp. parents with the foster care and that has been absolutely amazing and we will still continue to do foster care even after the adoption is final. A lot has happened lately with the foster girl that we have and want to update everyone with that too, but we will have to do that at a later time.
We are truly thankful for this miracle that is unfolding before us. This is truly a miracle in our lives and we are being blessed for sure and feel the love being poured down to us from our loving Heavenly Father. We will try our best to keep this blog updated as we things change and progress with this journey we are beginning. Thank you for everyone's love and support, we know that all of you have our backs and are supporting us 100%!!!!
With Love,
Tyka Williams
Reason for Blog
We wanted to create a blog so we could keep family and close friends updated with our crazy lives. We have a lot going on between the Dance Studio, Foster Care, and other things that we will tell you about later. We figure this would be the easiest way to tell you about our lives as many of you live out of town and are busy with your own lives. We have some pretty exciting news to share so please come back soon to read all about it!
With love,
Kara and Tyler!
